Description
RISO printing is such a cool way to print! It’s like screen printing but done through the mechanics of a RISOGRAPH machine. With a limited palette of vibrant, soy-based inks, RISO printing produces a distinct and tactile finish. However, these inks can smudge when handled, so take care of your print.
What makes RISO printing special is its imperfect quirks. The nature of the printing process means that prints may have variations in marks and alignment. These imperfections contribute to the unique character of the prints. As a result, your print may vary slightly from the one photographed.
Colours can look different on screens than in print – it all depends on how your screen is set up. It’s worth noting that the print may vary from the photograph, although I have made every effort to ensure that the picture accurately represents the colour of the print as best as possible.
RISO printing uses a low-energy process with soy-based, non-toxic inks and plant-fiber stencils, making it a sustainable choice.
I enjoy printing on recycled paper stock, make an effort to use biodegradable cellophane bags and reuse packaging whenever possible.
